 Essential Oil Containers and Resources

I’m passionate about using natural products at home to escape the chemical-laden pesticide burden of commercial products that assault and destroy our bodies on so many levels!  Containers, carrier oils and other ingredient are often found quite cheaply on Amazon! Here is a list of my favorite gadgets, books and tools to order.

Essential Oils

Currently, I only use and recommend Young Living, due to their Wildcraft standards (a worldwide standard that is significantly more stringent than the virtually meaningless USDA organic standards), and cold methods of processing. They do not endorse me and they are not aware of this blog page. These oils should be used with education and care! I cannot testify to the efficacy of any of the following recipes if other essential oils are used – I have only seen them work quickly and effectively with Young Living brand at this time.  I strongly recommend ordering a Premium Starter Kit to become a member ($50 per year minimum order to maintain member status), so you can order at wholesale prices. The kit is valued around $300 dollars, and is available for $160 and includes 11 of the most popular oils you will need to begin all your home applications.  You can also just order some items at retail cost as a customer, if you prefer! To get started on a healing journey with plant-power essential oils, order your kit here today, and use 4321 as your PIN so I can offer you personal customer service and care! As a part of our oil tribe, you’ll be loaded with the education and community you need to make your oils a successful part of your healing lifestyle.

Beauty Care Make & Take |  At my first oiling event in Seattle, we made a Silky Foaming Face Wash, Tummy Tuck Lotion, Sleepy Roller, Sun Block and The Base. Read about the class and download the recipe PDF.

Summer Body Lotion  |  This lotion has been wildly popular, and with good reason. I can’t even keep it in stock – as fast as I make it, it sells out!

The Base Lotion  |  Famous (infamous!?) and endlessly useful, this base lotion was masterminded by one of my natural living goddesses and heroines here in Virginia. The link will take you to her Oil Tribe blog, an open community of healthy living lovers like you and myself. This base lotion can be made in large quantities and stored in your pantry, and when you want to create a custom lotion for any use, just scoop a little into a jar or container and mix in the required essential oils.

Summer Make & Take |  Periodically, we host a “make & take” for the tribe, where oilers (new and experienced alike!) gather together and combine knowledge, skills and ingredients to make a menu of essential oil-infused items. There is usually a theme, and it is always an educational and lively experience with lots of food and good company! This recipe folder is from a summer-themed event and includes an allergy roller, bath diffusers, sunscreen and a summer body lotion – as well as The Base!

Essential Oil Carriers and Capsule Fillers

Bottle Rack with Gel Capsule Filling Stations  |  Conveniently carry, display or store bottles at hand, and fill gel capsules with ease.

Gel Capsule Filling Tray |  Use for filling gel caps with oils or mineral essence.

5 ml Amber Glass Bottle with Black Euro Dropper/Orfice Reducers & Gift Tags – 12 Pk  |  High quality, amber colored rollers that will become your new best friend!

24 Plain 1/3 oz. Roll-on Refillable Glass Perfume With 3 – 5 ml. Droppers  |  These rollers are useful for everything from allergy roll-ons to scented and healing perfumes, healing rollers, anti-viral mixe and more.

Aromatherapy Glass Roll On Bottles, FROSTED Cobalt Blue-Set of 12  |  Some oils are better kept in the dark, or if you are planning to keep the roller for quite a long time this is also recommended (some rollers I use up pretty quickly!).

12 New, High Quality, Clear, Mini (Approximately 4 ml, 1/8 fl. oz) Glass Roll on Bottles, with 3 ml Dropper  |  These little bottles are great for kids, or for handing out samples of healing oils to your family and friends (and strangers sneezing next to you on the plane!).

12 New, High Quality, 1 oz Amber Glass Bottles, with Black Fine Mist Sprayer  |  Use these to make spray on bug repellent, sunscreen, face toner, baby-bottom spray and more.

2 ml (5/8 dram) Amber Glass Essential Oil Bottle with Orifice Reducer and cap- 12 pack  |  Use these teeny, weeny containers for bringing small amounts of neat oils with you, or for handing out samples of oils to people in need of oily love!

1/4 Dram AMBER Glass Vial – Screw Cap w/ Orifice Reducer – Pack of 24  |  These ones are even teenier and weenier. Use them for microscopic samples!

Large 16 Oz Empty Refillable Amber Glass Spray Bottle, Decorative Bottle Label and Phenolic Cap  |  A nice, biggish container for making household cleaners, larger sprays, hair treatments or for hosing the kids down with bug repellent.

Riverrun Perfume/Cologne Travel/Purse Atomizers, Empty Refillable Glass Bottle, White Sprayer 4ml .14 oz (Set of 6)  |  Spritz yourself with the healing concoctions you make, then turn around and spray the bus seat so it’s sanitized, the grocery cart handle, the mail man …

Lip Balm Empty Container Tubes 3/16 Oz (5.5ml), Pack of 12; Natural (translucent) color  |  Making lip balm and tinted lip balm at home is way too much fun!

Greenwood Products Clear Glass 2oz Straight Sided Jar, with White Polypropylene PTFE Lined Cap (Case of 24)  |  A favorite with home lotion makers, these jars are glass and you don’t have to buy them in pallet quantities to get a decent price!

Gadgets & Tools

RSVP Endurance 18/8 Stainless Steel Mini Funnel, Set of 3  |  I use these for filling various small containers – I mean some of these containers have TINY openings!!

Books and Labels

Gentle Babies Essential Oils and Natural Remedies for Pregnancy, Childbirth, Infants and Young Children  |  An absolutely necessary resource for pregnant and post-partum women and children, filled with recipes and ideas on how to use the oils before, during and after birth, and for young children.

Essential Oils Pocket Reference  |  A must-have guide that I would recommend getting as soon as you start investing in essential oils. It’s one thing to have them, and another thing to know how and when to use them – safely! This book provides scientific background, contraindications, application advice and more.

Avery High Visibility 2 1/2 Inch Diameter White Labels 300 Pack (5294)  |  These labels are the perfect size for topping a wide-mouth mason jar (we use them for canning, too!), or for labeling other containers.

Avery Easy Peel Permanent Print-To-The-Edge Round Labels, Laser/InkJet, 2-Inch, Glossy White, Pack of 120 (22807)  |  These labels are suited for regular-mouth (narrow) canning jars and smaller containers.

Carrier Oils and Ingredients

Expeller-Pressed Organic Coconut Oil  |  Odorless and flavorless, this is a completely neutral oil that I use in my lotions, whips and salves. It stays in a solid state unless warmed, and is edible and thoroughly nutritious! I also use it for everything else in my kitchen!

Earth’s Essentials 100% Pure Organic Sweet Almond Oil-16 Oz. Bottle  |  Sweet almond oil is one of the primary ingredients in many base lotions, and since it is liquid it can be used to put oils in roller bottles, too.

Zinc Oxide Powder – 1 lb. in Quality Heat Sealed Resealable Zip Lock Pouch  |  For making homemade sunscreen, zinc oxide powder of the non-nano variety (cannot be absorbed into skin), is a must!  The more you add, the higher the SPF rating – but if you add too much, you’ll end up looking quite ghostly white!

Fractionated Coconut Oil Pure Organic Raw by Dr.Adorable 12oz pack of 2  |  This is THE most popular carrier oil for essential oilers. You can use it to throw together an emergency roller in under a minute!

Other Resources

SKS Bottle & Packaging  |  All the sizes and shapes under the sun – just take note of the quantities you are buying, as they are all sold in bulk.

Bulk Apothecary  |  Useful source for butters and carrier oils, as well as some containers.

Tropical Traditions | For all things coconut, sustainable, and ethically sourced!
